  • Introduction to the coffee industry
  • How to use an espresso machine
  • How to make an espresso 
  • How to steam milk to create froth
  • Some latte art
  • How to clean an espresso machine

Intermediate Level

The operational use of an espresso machine, as well as knowledge of some basic coffee menu items and having had an introduction to the method of steaming milk.

STAGE MODULE BREAKDOWN : 4 Hours Duration

  • Introduction to 11 different coffee menu items
  • More advanced latte art menu items
  • Etching and free pour patterns
  • Practice making all the coffees, making sure that they look correct
  • Learn how to adjust the grind to control the coffee extraction

Advanced Level

An understanding of how to steam milk and have an ability to make at least the basic coffee menu items look correct.

STAGE MODULE BREAKDOWN : 4 Hours Duration

  • Learn how to work under pressure
  • Learn how to make coffees in a time frame
  • All coffees to be made using the free pour method
  • Troubleshoot any problems
  • How to sell coffee

*Nationally recognized certificates cannot be offered unless Stages 2 & 3 are successfully completed by each student At all stage levels, certificates will be presented. Certificates of participation at the end stage levels I & 2 followed by the accredited certificate at the end of stage 3.
